I’m a late comer to the Apple creed and the genius that is Steve Jobs, a once-in-a-lifetime visionary.
I’m pragmatic. If something works I’ll stick with it. That’s what the PC represented for me, for home and especially for work.
Then I bought an iPod and converted my 3,000+ pieces of music to the digital iTunes and got rid of most of my CDs. I started to actually listen to my collection of music.
Then I bought an iPhone and it changed the way I consumed information. I even use it to make an occasional phone call.
Then I bought a Mac. Twice. The first time was an impulsive buy. I was a newly minted entrepreneur and wasn’t prepared for the incompatibility with business related software programs that I’d invested in. I thought I was prepared. I wasn’t. It was a frustrating time. I bought another PC.
The second was a brand new Mac Pro from my new employers. I was hooked. I never touched the PC again. Not because it isn’t a good computer or the programs aren’t useful anymore, but because this Steve Jobs engineered product performs so effortlessly and just feels so good — things you can’t itemize in a checklist of features.
I’m finally getting it.
Thank you , Steve Jobs.
