Thanks to the gracious social skills and generosity of John Lichtenberger and Eric Fletcher, it’s accurate to say that we engage, rather than follow each other.

Truly meaningful, is the remarkable consistency and kindness that these gentlemen exhibit in their use of this medium.  Two traits that I dearly value.

Unifying characteristics and points of relation include:

  • Work in the legal profession and further related marketing and advertising fields
  • Successful Twitter personalities by any measure, including follower counts that number in the thousands
  • Consistent retweeters of useful links and information across the spectrum, not just legal
  • Calling out and giving props and encouragement
  • Gracious conversationalists

Evidence of this wonderful combination of kindness and consistency is when they, without fail, thank the myriads of friends and followers whenever one of their tweets is retweeted or mentioned.  I’m still not sure how they manage that :-)

I don’t watch television news and recently, John’s tweets have been my primary source of news and information about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Valuable.

And a few months ago, Eric included me in his #Marketing Monday meme on Twitter. I replied that I was grateful for the props, but wasn’t a marketer. But you are, he replied. He recognized, that as an entrepreneur, even though I wasn’t overtly marketing my services, my engagement on Twitter was also building my brand.

Thanks, John and Eric for making my Twitter experience so much more meaningful and enjoyable. Follow them, you’ll feel the same!
