A few months ago, I wrote about the Facebook phenomenon, “NOW YOU CAN SEE EVERY 1 WHO VIEWS YOUR PROFILE!!” where you’re advised to change security settings, invited to join the “event” and directed to invite 50 of your friends to do the same.
Regarded by some as a Feboz phishing expedition, and by many as an annoyance and intrusion, the event is apparently over:
Very little information was available for this site, but much more has surfaced recently as the Feboz website is now up for sale.
Promoting Feboz as a Social Network With 510,000 Register Users, Flippa.com is auctioning off the site. The latest bid is $40,000. Apparently, no one has made an offer yet over at DealASite.com where the suggested opening bid is $90,000.
If the value of the site is based on page views and registered users, then the effort was successful with almost 4 million views per month and 500,000 registered users. And all of this accomplished in less than a year as the site was established in September, 2009.
Whatever the case, the motive behind the Facebook mess seems pretty obvious now – to build traffic in order to sell the site. Though some concern is voiced by potential buyers about reports of phishing, it’ll be interesting to see if this site is eventually purchased and by whom.
Interesting, because the success of this can potentially embolden copycat Facebook annoyances if not outright phishers.

Can I see who view my profile another way? Thank you for this.
Hi C.C., I’m not sure though I may have seen a recent post to that effect. I hope not. This was a big enough mess
