While I deeply appreciate the #FollowFriday meme that Twitter spawned, I’ve gone away from using it since I’d have to send out a ton of recommendations every Friday. There are many dear folks on Twitter and other social media platforms that I’ve come to appreciate day after day. So, instead, I choose one or more and compose a short post on why I appreciate and recommend these folks. I need to be more consistent about this

I discovered Danny Brown and Ching Ya a few months ago and I’ve included both in this post because as I considered the reasons I appreciated one, it applied directly to the other.
I met them on Twitter, engaged on their terrific and very useful blogs and am furthering the relationship on Facebook. Here are some of their unifying qualities and actions that I continue to appreicate and learn from:
- Wildly successful across all social media platforms.
- Use their blogs as a wonderfully crafted and engaging home base for developing and sharing ideas on other platforms.
- They practice what they preach. Danny’s credo of connection, conversation and community is followed with remarkable consistency by both.
- Incredibly generous, sharing their wealth of knowledge and experience.
- In a nutshell, kind, consistent and engaging. Instructive, even nurturing.
Check them out!

Thank you so much, Tim. Imagine my thrill when I saw this update on my Facebook feed today.
I’m thankful for your acknowledgment and to have my profile pic side by side with Danny is a great honor and nothing I would’ve expected at all as he’s way FAR MORE successful than I am.
This is a massive encouragement for the little me. It makes all hard work and effort worth while; not to mention having your friendship and support is one huge blessing too. Keep up the great work too!

You’re welcome, Ching Ya. And, thanks for the encouragement. With proper diligence, just about anyone can amass a large following – on our blogs, Facebook, Twitter, or any other platform – even achieving financial rewards. But the true measure of success is a thoughtful and consistent level of engagement, kindness, and the regard of others. On all levels, you certainly excel
Hey there mister Tim
First, sorry I haven’t jumped on here sooner – one of these weekends where time just got away from me completely!
Second, I can only say thanks and hope it doesn’t come out as a pat response. I really value and appreciate “feedback”, as it helps me grow and improve where needed. Kind words like yours show I must be doing a little of that right, and I’ll definitely try and keep it that way.
Ching is awesome. I think I found her blog via a comment she left over at my place (I use CommentLuv), so I checked her out, and we talked about blog design amongst other things.
You’re right – her blog is a great resource, and the fact it’s so respected while still being relatively new speaks volumes of Ching’s skills. There are a fair few “A-listers” that could learn from her…
Thanks again for the shout, fella, incredibly kind, and it’s been good getting to chat with you more frequently recently. Here’s to it continuing!
Hey, Danny, thanks for stopping by. As always, I appreciate your thoughts and perspective.
The irony, is that the lessons I continue to learn from you, Ching Ya and so many amazing bloggers out there is that I need to re-focus on my blogging and service at umcle.com, my entrepreneurial venture and less on the art or mechanics of blogging as this site attempts to do. At least in the short term. I will have more value to add here as my experience there blossoms….hopefully
I’m sure you will, fella, and look forward to seeing you “grow”
Thanks, man. Really appreciate the encouragement.
